Hide number 2 offers the closest flamingo viewing and has the best bench seating, but most visitors go to Hide 1 first and never make it to the others. The small café at the entrance sells surprisingly good bird identification cards for 10 AED that enhance the experience significantly.

Over 1,500 flamingos in the middle of Dubai — one of the most unexpected and beautiful sights in the city. Free entry but you need to register for a permit online in advance. Three hides overlook the lagoon. Go in the early morning for the best light and most active birds. Bring binoculars if you have them. The contrast of pink flamingos against the Downtown glass towers behind is extraordinary.

Description
This mangrove-lined lagoon is one of the few places in Dubai where you'll actually see native wildlife—flamingos, herons, and migratory birds stop here by the thousands, especially November to March. Grab binoculars, arrive early morning before the heat kicks in, and stick to the boardwalks; it's free, peaceful, and feels like a completely different world from the rest of the city.
