Madinat Jumeirah
Cues
Enter through the Mina A'Salam hotel entrance to skip the main tourist crowds and head straight to the quieter canal sections. The hidden rooftop bars in Al Qasr hotel offer the same Burj Al Arab views without restaurant minimum spends.
Insider Cue
The abra boats navigating the internal canals are a highlight — take one rather than walking. The souk has quality craft and art shops alongside the usual tourist fare — take time to look rather than rushing through. The Burj Al Arab view from the waterfront terrace restaurants is one of the best in Dubai.

Description
This man-made Arabian village is essentially a theme park for adults who want Instagram-worthy photos without leaving a resort, complete with wind towers, wooden dhows, and surprisingly decent restaurants hidden in the winding souks. Worth the entry fee if you're already in Jumeirah and have a few hours, but skip it if you're keen on authentic souks—the real deal is cramped, chaotic, and way cheaper in Deira.
