Ibn Battuta Mall by Dubai Retail

Insider Tips

The Persia and China courts are the most elaborate architecturally — worth spending time in even if you are not shopping. Less crowded than the city centre malls which makes it genuinely pleasant to browse. The Ibn Battuta theme is carried through every detail of the design — the ceiling paintings in each court are remarkable. Good cinema complex here. Combine with a visit to The Outlet Village nearby for a full day out in this part of the city.

Insider tip

Description

Ibn Battuta Mall is a genuinely unique shopping experience themed around the medieval explorer's travels, with each zone designed as a different destination—Morocco, Persia, Egypt, India, and China—making it feel more like exploring a curated world than wandering generic corridors. The Jaddaf location is less crowded than Downtown malls, the architecture is actually photo-worthy, and you'll find decent retail mix with some local brands; go for the vibe rather than expecting cutting-edge shopping or dining, and time your visit late afternoon when natural light hits the Moroccan court perfectly.
